Tournament Safety & Participation Policy

Safety comes before competition

AnglerHost is not an emergency, weather, navigation, rescue, or fish-and-wildlife authority. Organizers and participants must independently assess conditions and follow applicable laws, boating rules, licenses, conservation requirements, and event rules.

• Wear required personal flotation equipment and use appropriate safety gear.
• Do not take unsafe action to capture evidence, meet a deadline, or protect a score.
• Organizers should provide emergency contacts, boundaries, check-in procedures, and cancellation criteria outside the app when appropriate.

Catch-photo-release evidence

A tournament may require the in-app camera, a tournament-generated identifier shown in the photo, capture time, or location permission. These controls support judging but do not guarantee authenticity or replace human review.

• The app should retain a captured photo locally until upload succeeds or the angler deliberately discards it.
• Tournament directors and authorized officials may review submitted evidence and dispute records.
• Catch photos are scheduled for deletion 30 days after closure unless an active dispute or legal hold requires longer retention.

Decisions and disputes

Organizers set scoring, penalties, tie breakers, side pots, protest deadlines, and correction procedures. AnglerHost records authorized actions and may preserve an audit trail, but it does not act as the tournament judge unless expressly agreed in writing.
